My BFF's Wedding

I had such a great time out in Ontario and was fortunate enough to be able to head out there a whole 9 days before Niki's wedding (Aug 20-31). Even though the night I arrived there was CRAZY weather out there, even a couple tornadoes in nearby towns,

I was so excited to be there!

Niki & Mike's little guy Wyatt.

I LOVE this kid! He is such a little sweetie!

Broke my heart EVERY time he had a seizure though.

Wyatt has Tuberous Sclerosis.

We are all hoping that his new diet will get rid

of those awful seizures for good!

We went to Toronto for Niki's Bachelorette Party. SO fun! We stayed at the Delta Chelsea downtown, went shopping at the Eaton Centre, went to dinner at Milestone's (so yummy!) and later went to Cabana for drinks and dancing. We had our own little cabana there and bottle service which was awesome. No line-ups, no cover and we got to make our own drinks in our cabana! Had such a great time!

Now for some wedding day pics. I didn't take a tonne of pictures that day as I was in the wedding, but I managed to get a few good shots.

Niki was the most beautiful bride. I lost it a couple times...

It really was the perfect day.

It POURED rain that morning and they were calling for showers off and on all day.

Caused a little stress as the wedding was outside.

As we lined up in the tent to walk down the aisle, it started to rain.

We all just kind of looked at each other like "uh oh"

... and then the rain stopped and we didn't see another drop for the rest of the day!
The reception was amazing, food, speeches, everything!

And everyone had such a great time at the dance.

Couldn't have asked for a better day!

Happy Birthday to Grandma Love Austin

Trying to get caught up....
Austin gave Grandma her birthday present a bit early this year. Grandma and Grandpa came up to Strathmore to pick up Austin on Aug. 19th. He stayed out at the farm while I was away in Ontario for a week and a half. He had such a great time. Thanks Mom & Dad!!

The Wishbook

Remember being little and getting so excited when the Sears Wishbook would arrive in the mail? Well, I still get excited lol but I think Austin was glued to it for a good two days. Every chance he got he was flipping through the toys telling me all the things he wanted for his birthday and Christmas, which was pretty much everything in the boys section. Oh to be little again!

Candy Land

I have been waiting patiently for the day that Austin would/could sit and play the board game Candy Land with us. It has been one of my favourites since I was his age and is now one of his. Lost count of how many times we played that first day!

Cupcakes for Daddy

It was Austin's idea to bake some cupcakes

for Daddy for his birthday;

so we did just that!

A Love for Lego

Austin has discovered a love for Uncle Kris' old Lego.

Water Park

A good friend of mine, Krista, whom I grew up with, was in town visiting her sister. She called to say they were heading to the waterpark that afternoon and was wondering if we'd like to join them, so I picked up my friend Jen and her kids and met Krista and her sister and their kids down at Kinsmen Park. Turned out to be a wonderful afternoon!

PICNIC

We met up with John's co-workers and their families at the Panorama Hills Community Centre in NW Calgary for a Picnic/BBQ. The Community Centre is absolutely amazing, all gated, with water park, playground, volleyball, basketball, sand pit, etc and is beautifully landscaped. It was nice to be able to visit with everyone and chat with the other wives whose husbands all work the same crazy schedule as mine does. Everyone's kids had fun the whole time we were there and had a great time making ice cream sundaes with all the fixings for dessert.

Hope we can all get together again soon!

Daddy's Little Helper

Austin had fun helping John replace our deck boards this summer.

He grabbed his little tool box and couldn't wait to get started.
